Book Recommendation: The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod

Hey everyone! How are your new years goals coming along? I haven’t really made a specific list of goals that I want to achieve. I am more so just focused on finding ways to improve myself. Why not, right?

I haven’t been reading as much lately because I just haven’t felt motivated to do so. When I was on the hunt for new books to read, I would just put a bunch of books that I heard were good on hold. I usually don’t read the book reviews or what the books are about as I only get the self help books. It’s always a surprise as to what the book will be about. I love to use my public library’s website to request e-books rather than buying the book. I am also somewhat of a germaphobe so I don’t like to check out the physical books.

While I was on a break from reading, I got an email notification saying that I had a book available to read. Great, I thought. I will just return it because I really don’t feel like reading. Just as I was about to return it, there was a little voice inside my head telling me that I should just read it a bit and then if I don’t like it, I can return it. I started reading it. I kept reading it. Before I knew it, I was finished the book. Oh my goodness! What a great book this is.

The Miracle Morning is basically saying that in order for you to have a better life and improve your physical reality, you need to improve yourself first. Once you improve yourself, you will become the person that you need to be in order to improve your life. This book was written by a guy who had tremendous obstacles in his life. He could have easily given up along the way but instead he pushed through it. The author wanted to improve his life, but he knew he had to improve himself first. He decided to focus on the 6 most common self improvement techniques and then incorporated them into his morning routine. The 6 techniques are:

  • mediation;
  • affirmations;
  • visualization;
  • exercise;
  • reading; and
  • journaling.

He was doing these things daily and he saw dramatic improvements in his life. He told other people about it, they did it for at least 30 days and they saw dramatic improvement in their lives.

As I am always looking for ways to improve myself and my life, I have decided that I am going to do this challenge for 30 days. I really, really, really hate exercising, but I am going to give it a go. I am nervous, but excited to do this. I am also very curious as to if i will have dramatic improvements. When I finish my challenge, I will share my results with you all.

Do you think it will work? Have any of you done the 30 Day Miracle Morning Challenge?
