Book Recommendation: The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield

The Celestine Prophecy

This book is definitely one of my top 5 favourite books. I first heard about it on YouTube. I don’t remember which person’s channel I was watching, but it was one of those videos called “10 books that changed my life”. Usually with these types of videos, I will just go onto my nearest public library’s website and just reserve all of the books that they recommend (if they have the book – most of the time they do).

When I started reading this book, I almost didn’t get past the first part. I thought that it was a little bit corny and it didn’t really grab my attention. The beginning was somewhat forced and didn’t flow very well. However, the beginning of this book (and most books) are written to help set up the plot to make for an amazing story. You must get past the beginning because once you do, this book will take you on the most incredible journey. I am so glad I got past it because this book literally changed my life!

This book takes you through history and the evolution of psychology. The Celestine Prophecy refers to the phases of these advancements as the 9 insights.  These 9 insights are prophecies that are believed to date back to 600BC. The narrative will guide you through each of the extraordinary prophecies from this past millennium and this millennium. The majority of this book takes place in Peru. The main character is on a mission to discover what the 9 insights are and to fully comprehend their meaning. This book is well thought out. Following along is effortless. The insights are straightforward, it is simple to understand and easy to apply.

I do not want to and will not get into what the 9 insights are in case you do read this book (which I highly recommend that you do). Please try not to look up what these 9 insights are. Looking up these insights may cause you to not fully understand nor grasp each insight. It will also ruin the plot of this book and may disrupt your personal journey.

I believe that this book will come to you when you are ready. Each book you read will come into your life at the precise moment that you need it and when you are ready to experience it. I believe that once this book comes into your life, it will change the way you think about the past, future and present. It will push your boundaries and your beliefs. The story may help you clarify some things that you are going through and some emotions that you may be experiencing. It may even answer some questions that you have. The narrative is a somewhat of a step-by-step guide of this evolution and can help you understand how you may practice the beliefs in this book.

Disclaimer: This book may push your religious beliefs. If you are sensitive to these types of topics, I do not recommend that you read this book.
